Lease-on with TruckersTool — drive under our authority.

Lease-on means you bring the CDL and the work ethic; we bring the authority, the trailer, the insurance, and the dispatch. You earn 1099 (not W-2), see every load before you accept, and walk away any time with no claw-back. This is the lease-on the industry should have built years ago.

// What you get

Lease-on, plain English.

All the freedom of an owner-operator, none of the $80k–$200k capital outlay required to buy your own truck and authority.

Run on day one

You bring a CDL with 24+ months OTR experience and a clean MVR. We provide the truck (or you bring your own), the authority, the trailer, the insurance, the broker packets. First load offered within 48 hours of onboarding.

1099 percentage pay

You earn a percentage of every load gross — 65–72% to you, depending on whether you provide truck or use ours. No artificial mileage caps. No "company sets the rate" shenanigans. Every settlement breaks down line-by-line.

No predatory contracts

One phone call to walk away. No "training repayment", no "if you quit before X months you owe us $Y", no equipment claw-backs. Take your CDL and your driving record with you when you go.

Optional path to ownership

After 90 days clean, optional lease-purchase on partner equipment with terms we publish in writing. Or stay lease-on indefinitely. Or graduate to your own MC — we coach drivers through that transition too.

// How lease-on percentage works

The split — what you take home.

Lease-on percentage depends on whether you bring your own truck or run ours. Both paths are good; the math is just different.

You bring truck We provide truck
Driver share of gross 72% 65%
Truck cost Your existing truck None — we own + maintain
Trailer We provide We provide
Insurance We provide (cargo + liability) We provide (full coverage)
Fuel Your fuel card Our fuel card (deducted from settlement)
Tolls + scales Pass-through Pass-through
Typical weekly take-home $2,200–$3,200 $1,800–$2,600
Best for Drivers with paid-off or low-payment trucks Drivers without a truck yet

Both paths use the same dispatch quality (we negotiate every load, we vet every broker, we handle every paperwork item). The only difference is who owns the tractor.

// What we ask of you

Driver requirements.

Lease-on works because we vet who comes on. These are the minimums.

  • Active CDL Class A with 24+ months OTR experience.
  • Clean MVR — no DUIs in 5 years, no more than 2 minor moving violations in 3 years.
  • Clean PSP / DAC report — preventable accidents reviewed case-by-case, but not auto-disqualifying.
  • Drug + alcohol Clearinghouse compliant — pre-employment screen passes.
  • Willingness to be on the road — typical lease-on is 5-7 days out, 1-2 days home. Regional configurations available for the right driver.
  • If bringing your own truck: 2010+ engine year (CARB compliance), DOT inspection within last 12 months.
